I've Been There, I Understand Your Frustrations

I've been there my friend. Yup, checking my sales stats hour after
hour, hoping for an occasional sale only to find that the only guys
making money were the gurus and super-affiliates promoting products to
their huge lists. The little guys like me were left sucking the fumes
of the sales being made by the big guns. And it's no fun trying to live
off of the table scraps of super-affiliates.

But Those Guys Were No Smarter Than Me

Not only weren't the big affiliates any smarter than I was, they didn't
work any harder than I did either. That was the big frustration. I hope
you can relate to that. So I asked myself exactly what I needed to do
to start making some serious money online because what I was doing then
just wasn't working.

So I took two full weeks and I tried to answer that question. I
realized that 90% of the time I was spending online was wasted on
activities that were not directly related to making me money. I had to
use my time more wisely, because my time was all I had. I needed to get
organized and I needed to find a way to get my pre-sell pages to the
top of Google to get some real traffic to my site.

It's enough to drive ya crazy! Pre-sell pages, review sites, feeder
pages, tap & leech pages, article submissions, video postings, social
bookmarking, keyword research, SERP rankings, back-link building,
squeeze pages, bonus products, logins and passwords, sales stats, email
marketing, and more. Yup, it can drive you crazy alright

My First Task Was To Get Hyper-Organized

I looked at every single thing I was doing online. I looked at
inefficiencies in my workflow. I analyzed every aspect of my affiliate
marketing campaigns to find ways to do them better and more
efficiently.

What I found was that I wasn't spending 5-10% of my time in non-income
producing activities--I was spending 80% of my online time involved in
activities not directly related to earning affiliate income. Worse yet,
even when I was working on things related to making money, I was doing
them inefficiently.

I Developed A Plan To Organize My Workflow

I took about 4-5 days to create a system of organizing my workflow so
that my online time would be devoted 95% to income-earning activities.
Doing this alone meant that I was now able to do in one hour what used
to take me a full day to accomplish. Phase (I) of my plan was competed,
now I had to work on getting top Google listings for my pre-sell pages.

Now I Needed Some Top Google Listings

I had about o dozen pre-sell pages set up promoting various products.
The problem was that they were all buried on page 3-10 of the listings
and people just don't drill that far down to get information on
products.

I took a break from what I was doing and spent the next 7-8 months
studying my competition in a number of niches. I studies their pre-sell
and review pages. I studied how they got back-links and where they came
from. I learned what Google wanted in order to make pages show well. I
created a blueprint (untested as of yet) that incorporated everything I
had learned.

I started fresh using my organizational plan and my blueprint for
getting top Google rankings. I selected a product to promote and went
to work. I had purchased Craig Beckta's Secret Affiliate Code earlier
and was on his list. I learned that he was coming out with his new
Secret Affiliate Code II in about ten days. I decided to promote it.

This Is Where It Gets Exciting

I put up a couple of pre-sell pages for Craig's new product. One was on
Squidoo and one was on Blogger. I knew the product would sell because
his first SAC book was a Clickbank best-seller. I wrote a couple of
articles for back-links and did some back-linking but not much. One
thing I had learned, contrary to what everyone says--is that massive
back-links are not needed to get top Google rankings in many cases.
On-site optimization, if done properly can play a huge role.

Let The Game Begin!

In less than six hours I had both pre-sell pages set up, the minimal
back-linking I did was done, and everything was live. I waited. The
next day I checked Google for the exact name of the product Secret
Affiliate Code 2. Nothing. But these things take time. Every couple
hours I would check back and see if my pages showed up. Arrrgh-nothing.
I went to bed and got up early the next day and got online. Back to
Google.

I again entered my keyword phrase, the exact name of the product AND
BANG!!! There I was. I have to tell you I had tears welling up in my
eyes. My Squidoo pre-sell page was not only on the front page of
Google--it was in the #1 position! Yikes.

I Was Competing WIth Myself For The #1 Spot On Google!

I checked it several times that day to make sure I wasn't dreaming, and
every time my page came up #1! But that was only the beginning. I get
up the next morning and again check my listings. No--this can't be
true! Not only was my Squidoo page at the #1 position on Google, but my
Blogger page was now in the #2 position as well. I owned the most
valuable real estate on Google for a product that was launching in just
a couple days!

This Cost Me Nothing To Set Up & Only Hours To Complete

I had used two free blogging platforms, spent no money on PPC ads, no
money on domain names or web hosting and I was dominating Google's
front page for the exact name of a product that was undergoing a
massive product launch the next day. I don't want to downplay the money
thing, sure I was delighted when the money started pouring in--but that
wasn't why I was excited--really! I was excited because I had developed
a system that actually worked. It cost me no money and took only a few
hours to set up.

I Know What You're Thinking...

Sure Mike, your pages showed up for a few hours or maybe a few days,
but then they fell off from the front page didn't they. Not so fast!
That was over a year an a half ago. My Blogger page remained on the
front page for over a year and my Squidoo page is still in the top five
positions on Google (and that is without doing any subsequent
back-linking at all).

This Was Not A Fluke - 3 of Top 10 Listings For One Product Name

I used my same blueprint to get top listings for top Clickbank products
again and again. And my front page Google listings were not for some
funky long-tailed keywords like others show you, they were for the
exact name of the product I was promoting.

And Here Is The Good Thing...

My tactics for getting my pre-sell pages to the front page of Google
not only work for pee-sell pages. The exact same tactics work for
articles, video submissions, feeder pages, and more! Below is a shot
from a Google search for the exact name of Michael Rasmussen's top
selling Clickbank product Get More Buyers. Michael is one of
Clickbank's top-selling super-affiliates and my eZineArticle nailed
down the #4 position on the front page of Google for the name of his
product out of over 6,000,000 pages returned.

I Documented Everything I Did

The one good thing I did was to document everything I did. I made a
detailed map of what I did, when I did it, and why. I had a plan that
worked. I could dominate Google for any product name I picked. It was
an exciting time. I tried this again and again and it worked like
clockwork. I had the power to control the front page of Google and I
used that power to viciously destroy my competition.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
